Travel the Lewis & Clark Trail

Lewis and Clark sojourners learn about Fort Osage
Learn about the Lewis and Clark Expedition first-hand on this extraordinary learning vacation.  Visit the actual sites traversed by Captains Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery. Travel with fellow history buffs, participate in lively discussions with knowledgeable historians and living history re-enactors.

Departing from St. Louis, the itinerary features Historic St. Charles, Fort Osage, Council Bluff (where Lewis & Clark encountered their first Natives), Fort Mandan, and of course the Mighty Mo itself.  From Bismarck, where the corps wintered at nearby Fort Mandan, the trail continues westward with stops at Fort Union, Pompeys Pillar, Great Falls (where a major Lewis & Clark Center is located), Fort Benton, over the imposing Lolo Trail to the numerous Idaho sites where the friendly Nez Perce tribes offered succor, The Dalles (home to the magnificent Columbia Gorge Discovery Center) and finally, Fort Clatsop where the corps endured the miserable winter of 1805-06.

From the opening night festivities, to encounters with "members" of the Corps of Discovery, to an ongoing Lewis & Clark trivia game onboard the deluxe motorcoach, participants are immersed in the epic journey from St. Louis to Astoria. The coach even sports a 15-star flag identical to the ones Captains Lewis & Clark presented to Native chiefs along the route of their 1804-1806 exploration. Now you can join an interpretive expedition exploring the Lewis and Clark Trail.

Don't miss this opportunity to re-trace the steps of the Corps of Discovery on the greatest adventure in American history!
